Public Sector Organisations

Public sector organisations

EzGov is pleased to offer our clients exclusively customised, turn-key solutions built to open standards and matched directly to their need. We are not in the business of foisting proprietary technologies or packaged applications. Why? Because too often for the customer this means technological lock-in, expensive licenses, and/or a one-size-fits-all attitude to requirements. Our long record of success derives from listening to our clients, and by hiring people with the right experience to meet client need with robust, comprehensive solutions.

Understanding the Business of Government

Collectively our people form a locus of iterative development expertise, technological authority, user design skills, and Government practise experience. That is, we not only know technology, design, and delivery, but we know it in the context of high-profile public sector projects. Why is such singularity of focus valuable? Because it ensures our solutions respond to the unique challenges of the public sector, rather than force-fitting private industry dictates to public sector questions.

Since our founding nearly a decade ago, EzGov has worked solely, exclusively, entirely for transformational government. This means more than 100 engagements for some of the largest agencies in local and national government.

Rapid, Assured Delivery

There's no substitute for experience. That's why when it comes to putting complex government services online, on-time, on-budget, EzGov is unmatched. We've been enabling national governments for almost as long as the Web's been around. And our people - process specialist, designers, architects - have been at work in their respective competencies for even longer.

A driving principle of our delivery methodology is to attack risk early and often. In fact, this notion of attacking risk is exactly what our clients are doing when they hire us. EzGov's presence on complex projects is a sure risk mitigation strategy. Our core competency is the development of large, mission-critical, public-facing solutions. We know what it is to have a minister make a promise in the papers. And we have never missed a date or had an application fail to perform.

Agile and Responsive

Change is inherent to the nature of public sector projects. Whether a shift in legislation, a new remit for the agency, or a revised set of funding, our clients require a partner sufficiently nimble to adapt to the unforeseen. With fewer than 100 employees, EzGov has the advantage of size. Decisions that might involve weeks of internal negotiation at other companies can be taken in hours.

Just as critically, EzGov’s delivery strategy takes unforeseen change as a given. Each of our solutions adheres to the key principles of proper, robust requirement traceability, test coverage and automation, and an architectural separation of software concerns. Such principles ensure modular, highly stable solutions that readily absorb new or changed requirements.

Uncommon Client Service

EzGov has never had a client decline to renew a contract. Moreover, we have earned the endorsement of every client we’ve ever worked with – any one is happy to stand as a reference. This reflects not only our extraordinary delivery record, but our culture of client service. We are proud to have remained a long-standing, trusted partner of some of the largest agencies in the UK, including HM Revenue & Customs, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the Ministry of Justice. We’re even prouder that in customer satisfaction surveys, our clients have given us an average satisfaction score of better than 95%.

Value for Money

True value for money goes beyond meeting the terms of a contract. Efficient, timely delivery is critical, but a vendor’s real value is shown by what their solutions gain the client.

Recent parliamentary reviews conducted by Lords Gershon, Carter, and Varney (among others) have found tens of millions of pounds in savings accrued to various agencies thanks to the innovative use of ICT. EzGov is proud to have had our solutions named in these reports as examples of what effective, high-use online solutions are capable of achieving. It’s further confirmation that our business is not to render technology for technology’s sake, but instead to drive efficiencies for our clients.

Government Gateway Expertise

EzGov developed the first application to connect to the UK Government Gateway, and has pioneered the online use of the Gateway ever since. The Gateway is at the heart of government strategy for delivering 'joined up' e-Government, enabling people to interact with government from a single point of entry. However, organisations frequently faces challenges when integrating solutions with the Gateway. These include interoperability issues, testing difficulties, and a steep learning curve for technical staff.

EzGov eliminates these problems by a combination of years of experience and a comprehensive open source tool-kit we’ve developed that covers all aspects of integration with the Gateway. The kit includes:

  • Document Submission Plug-In: Simplifies many of the low-level complexities involved in document submission to the Gateway. The plug-in provides for the automatic resubmission of failed messages, a configurable audit trail of transactions and batch polling of requests. It also prevents double submissions to the Gateway.
  • Gateway Simulator: Enables development teams to test an application’s integration with the Gateway. The simulator is easy to connect to without setting up secure development/testing environments. This means Gateway integration testing can occur as and when the project requires it.
