Our experience in developing e-Government solutions for company registration is international. In the U.S. for example, the Small Business Administration (SBA) wanted to facilitate the process by which new business owners apply for and obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN). This effort would be an important part of a larger, interagency, intergovernmental project to create a business compliance portal in the United States.
We built the first application to combine the separate state and federal registration processes into one. Streamlining the exchange of applicant data between states and the federal government eliminates the need for business owners to enter the same information into multiple systems. This convenience would save time and money for business owners throughout the country, as well as for all involved state and federal agencies.
Our extensive experience in developing other Web-based transactional applications coupled with our strong references, clearly indicated to SBA that we could deliver a superior solution — and that we could do it quickly. The application met the needs of SBA, Georgia, Illinois, and the numerous small businesses throughout the country.
Moreover, this component-based solution with reusable code and a Web services interface represents great strides for SBA and the involved states towards fulfilling the Federal Government's vision for customer-driven, robust, and seamless electronic government.
