"For many employers, using the web-based service will simply be a feature of the payroll or accounting software they already use. Or if they do not already use software, they can visit our website to find out about the range of compatible software and online forms available for them to choose from."

Online is a web-based application designed, built and implemented
by EzGov Europe for HM Revenue & Customs, which enables their corporate
customers to send Corporation Tax returns online.
The Solution
Corporation Tax is a tax on a company's taxable income or profits. Companies:
- have to work out their own tax liability
- have to pay their tax without prior assessment by HM Revenue & Customs
- are liable to penalties if they do not deliver a return by the statutory filing date, normally 12 months after the end of the accounting period.
CT
Online is designed to simplify the process of calculating and
submitting a company's Corporation Tax Return, enabling companies
to submit their Corporation Tax Return (CT600), accounts and computations
via the Internet.
Solution features
Application Design/Smart Navigation
The online
Corporation Tax application has an intuitive and responsive
application design. A smart navigation component is interactive
and provides a form completion method that alters navigation based
on user response to a set of questions at the beginning of the application.
This component reduces the average amount of time it takes for users
to complete the tax return, as sections not relevant to them are
automatically omitted. A combined wizard and form interface helps
to guide the user through complex areas of the form.
Final Validation
After the user has completed the form, the validation function checks the fields for errors. The Final Validation Mode directs the user only to pages where errors have occurred. The user can correct the details and move on to the next error.
Pre-population
This functionality takes the users data held by the HM Revenue & Customs and enters it on the tax return in the appropriate fields. This speeds up the process of completing and submitting the tax return online.
Attachments
The application provides the ability to attach PDF files when submitting a tax return. Users can electronically attach their Accounts, Computations, and other files in a non-modifiable format for review by HM Revenue & Customs.
Easy access
Users are able to log into the HM Revenue & Customs portal and select
a link to directly access the CT
Online application. The look and feel of the application and
portal are consistent to enhance the user experience.
Amendments
This functionality allows users to take a previously submitted return, make necessary changes, and resubmit its contents. The Amendment is pre-populated with all the data from the previously submitted return so the user does not have to re-enter its contents. This fully automates and speeds up the process of completing and submitting an Amendment.
